QQCatalyst commission tracking: your options
QQCatalyst is an agency management system, so this is not an “alternative to QQCatalyst” page. It sets out what Vertafore documents for commissions in QQCatalyst, and when a separate check may help. Every Vertafore statement links to Vertafore’s own page, checked 12 Oct 2026.
QQCatalyst is Vertafore’s cloud agency management system. Lapidar does not replace it and does not connect to it; it checks statement files against a book export and schedule, beside QQCatalyst. We build Lapidar, so we have kept every statement about QQCatalyst to what QQCatalyst’s own public pages say, each linked and dated. Where we found nothing, we say so; that does not mean the product lacks it.
What QQCatalyst documents about commissions
Vertafore’s cloud agency management system. Its help center documents commission setup to track money received from insurance companies.
- Commission rules are built from policy details, and tiered carrier commission based on total policy premium can be set up. Source: help.vertafore.com, checked 12 Oct 2026.
- Commissions can be reconciled between the agency and its producers, in the employee’s record or in Commission Central. Source: help.vertafore.com, checked 12 Oct 2026.
- Release notes mention Direct Bill Commission downloads: version 5.0.13 (effective 1/10/2024) fixed downloads that did not generate a PDF, and a 2022 notice says downloads, including Direct Bill Commissions Downloads, older than 365 days are purged. Source: help.vertafore.com, checked 12 Oct 2026.

When QQCatalyst is the better choice
- You want commission rules, including tiered carrier commission by premium, set up in the same system as your policies.
- You pay producers. QQCatalyst documents reconciling commissions with producers; Lapidar does not do producer pay.
- You receive direct bill commission downloads in QQCatalyst and want to work from them there.
When Lapidar may fit
- You want carrier statements checked line by line against an export of your book and your schedule, including policies that produced no statement line. We did not find a QQCatalyst help page describing how carrier statements are reconciled; ask Vertafore.
- Some carrier statements reach you as PDF or spreadsheet files.
- You want a per-carrier report of what looks owed, tied to the statement page and row, to send to the carrier.
Some agencies use both: their system for day-to-day commission records, and a monthly check of statements against the book.
What Lapidar does, and doesn’t
Lapidar is new and in a founding pilot for up to 7 agencies, with no customers or published results yet. It is not an agency management system and works beside one.
- You upload your book (CSV or XLSX export from your AMS), your commission schedule (CSV, XLSX or typed in), and the carrier statements as sent (CSV, XLSX or PDF with a text layer).
- Each commission line and each policy that owed commission in the period is matched by carrier and policy number and labeled Missing, Underpaid, Paid twice, Chargeback, Overpaid, Not in book or Unchecked, with the statement page and row behind it.
- Output: a findings page, CSV export and a printable report per carrier. You send it; Lapidar never contacts carriers.
- It doesn’t do: AMS integration, OCR for scanned PDFs, carrier downloads or AL3/XML import, producer pay, bank reconciliation or accounting entries. Results depend on your book and schedule being right.
- Price: USD 99 a month plus applicable tax during the founding pilot, as published.
Full detail is on the commission reconciliation software page; the output is shown on the sample report (invented data).
