Commission reconciliation for agencies on QQCatalyst

QQCatalyst holds your commission rules and receives direct bill downloads. This page covers turning those into a Lapidar schedule and statement files, and one retention detail worth knowing.

In short

  • Lapidar has no QQCatalyst integration. It works from files: a book export, your commission schedule, and the statements your carriers sent.
  • Statements: CSV, XLSX or PDF with selectable text. Book and schedule: CSV or XLSX.
  • Statements about QQCatalyst below come from Vertafore’s own public pages, cited on our QQCatalyst comparison (checked 12 Oct 2026).

What QQCatalyst documents

Vertafore’s QQCatalyst help describes commission rules built from policy details, including tiered carrier commission based on total policy premium, and reconciling commissions between the agency and its producers. Release notes mention Direct Bill Commission downloads: a January 2024 fix for downloads that did not generate a PDF, and a 2022 notice that downloads older than 365 days are purged. We did not find a help page describing how carrier statements themselves are reconciled.

Your rates become the schedule

Lapidar compares each paid amount with the rate you expect, so it needs a commission schedule: a CSV or XLSX of carrier, line, new or renewal and rate, or rates typed in. The rules you keep in QQCatalyst are the natural source. A tier that depends on total policy premium is a rule Lapidar’s schedule doesn’t express; enter the rate that applies to your book, and treat findings on tiered carriers with that in mind.

Which statements to bring

Statements that reach you as PDF or spreadsheet files go to Lapidar as they are: CSV, XLSX, or a PDF with selectable text. The release notes say direct bill downloads generate a PDF; whether that PDF has selectable text we can’t tell from Vertafore’s pages, so try one, and a scan won’t read. With a 365-day purge, save the statements you want to keep before they age out; Lapidar is not meant to be your archive of statements either.

The book export from QQCatalyst

We did not find a public QQCatalyst help page describing a policy list export, so we don’t name one. Use a listing with one row per policy saved as CSV or .xlsx.

Whatever report you use, Lapidar needs one row per policy, with columns for carrier (named the way you name it in your schedule), policy number, line of business, new or renewal and written premium; insured name, effective date and number of installments help if you have them. The first time, you tell Lapidar which column is which. Policy numbers that differ from the carrier’s only by dashes, spaces, a renewal suffix or leading zeros (after any prefix you list) are matched automatically. Files can be up to 20 MB.

Every supported format and limit is on the product page; the output is on the sample report (invented data). Weighing reconciliation options for QQCatalyst rather than files? See QQCatalyst: your options.

Frequently asked questions

Can Lapidar use my QQCatalyst commission rules directly?

No. There is no QQCatalyst integration. You upload a schedule as CSV or XLSX, or type the rates; tiered rules based on total policy premium have to be reduced to the rate that applies.

Does Lapidar do producer commissions like QQCatalyst?

No. Lapidar checks what carriers paid the agency. Reconciling with producers stays in QQCatalyst.

Is Lapidar affiliated with Vertafore?

No. Lapidar is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Vertafore. QQCatalyst is a trademark of its owner.
