Commission reconciliation for agencies on Vertafore AMS360
How to use a book exported from AMS360 with Lapidar to check this month’s carrier statements. Files only, no integration.
Lapidar is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Vertafore. AMS360 and Vertafore are trademarks of their owner and are used here only to describe compatibility with exported files.
In short
- Lapidar has no AMS360 integration. It works from files: a book export from your system, your commission schedule, and the statements your carriers sent.
- Vertafore’s own help documentation describes exporting AMS360 reports as CSV, as Excel and as PDF. Lapidar reads the book as CSV or XLSX.
- Carrier statements go to Lapidar as the carrier sent them: CSV, XLSX or PDF with a text layer.
If your agency runs on Vertafore AMS360, you can use Lapidar beside it without changing anything in AMS360. This page explains which files to bring and what to check before uploading. It describes only what Vertafore documents publicly and what Lapidar does; it is not a guide to AMS360 itself, and menus and report names can differ by version and by how your agency is set up.
What AMS360 can export
Vertafore’s help page on previewing, printing and exporting reports describes these options (checked October 12, 2026):
- CSV: “create a CSV file, and send (export) it to the application of your choice”. For further analysis, the same page recommends “the Create CSV method” over exporting from the report viewer.
- Excel (.xls), either formatted or “the report data only, eliminating formats”.
- PDF, intended for email or archiving.
For Lapidar, a CSV export of a policy listing is the one to use. AMS360’s Excel exports are the older .xls format, which Lapidar doesn’t read; if you prefer Excel, open the data-only export and save it as .xlsx first. A formatted Excel report with headings and subtotals, or a PDF of the book, is harder to read as rows and is not accepted as a book file.
What the book export needs
One row per policy, with columns for:
- carrier (named the way you’ll name it in your schedule),
- policy number,
- line of business,
- new or renewal,
- written premium,
- and, if you have them, insured name, effective date and number of installments.
The first time you upload, you tell Lapidar which column is which. Policy numbers that differ from the carrier’s only by dashes, spaces, a renewal suffix or leading zeros (after any prefix you list) are matched automatically.
Carrier statements
Upload the statements as you received them from each carrier: CSV, XLSX or PDF with selectable text. If you also record direct bill statements in AMS360, keep doing so; Lapidar doesn’t read anything back from your system, and it doesn’t write to it.
What you get
A list of findings (missing, underpaid, paid twice, chargeback, overpaid, not in book), each pointing to the statement page and row or the book row, plus a printable report per carrier. See the sample report with invented data, and the product page for every supported format and limit. Corrections you find go back into AMS360 by hand.
Frequently asked questions
Does Lapidar integrate with AMS360?
No. Lapidar has no integration with AMS360 or any other agency management system. You export your book as CSV or Excel (.xlsx, not .xls) and upload it, together with your carrier statements.
Which AMS360 export format should I use for Lapidar?
A CSV export of a policy listing, with one row per policy. Vertafore documents CSV, Excel (.xls) and PDF exports of reports; Lapidar reads the book only as CSV or .xlsx, so either use the CSV export or save the data-only Excel export as .xlsx first.
Is Lapidar affiliated with Vertafore?
No. Lapidar is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Vertafore.
